baby shower crafts
last weekend i attended my friend andrea's baby shower. i had the greatest time making gifts for her and jon's new baby boy who arrives at the end of this month. they have a cowboy theme in the nursery so i made this stuffed horse. i saw a picture on a great craft blog (www.littlebirds.typepad.com) recently of a similar horse, so i gave it a shot. it took quite a while to sew by hand, but i'm quite pleased with the results. it was hard to say good-bye!

the day before the shower i had an idea to make stenciled onesies. i'd seen this technique and had wanted to try it. first you take freezer paper (found in the grocery store) and draw or trace a design. cut it out with an exacto knife, iron it on to a tee, paint over it with fabric paint, peel off the freezer paper and ta-da! now i've got to make some for myself! rick made the ones with type, i made the cutesy animals. since j & a aren't revealing the baby's name just yet, they're calling it zeus and jon jr. for now.

you're so crafty andrea. i'm impressed.
Yeah, I am also very impressed by this sudden crafty streak. If only I had the time... (although I may make curtains soon and my needlepoint santa ornament is coming along quite nicely)
It's a snowman ornament not a santa one...
